Journey of Light and Gratitude: El Nido
Bringing solar electricity to San Fernando National High School with GivePower: 12 panels, battery storage, lights, and fans for hundreds of students.
Our goal: bring electricity to San Fernando National High School in El Nido, Palawan. With the support of GivePower, electricity4all, and 1 Million Lights, we set out to provide solar panels, fans, and lighting for hundreds of high school students in one of the poorest areas of the country.
For five days, volunteers were immersed in the community. Families opened their homes, shared their food, and welcomed the team as their own. These families had little by American standards, with no refrigeration, no clean drinking water, and no indoor plumbing. There was no shortage of happiness and love.
The results are measurable: a 12-panel solar system (580W each, 6.96 kW total) paired with a 6.144 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery now produces roughly 32 kWh per day. That powers 54 lights, 29 fans, 16 outlets, a TV, 15 laptops, and daily phone charging for the entire school.

Join us at the Boystown orphanage and senior living facility, where our work over the past eight years has improved the lives of over 600 residents. With the help of dedicated virtual professionals from MyOutDesk and the generous support of our community, family, friends, and MOD clients, we have made real progress. There is still more to do.
Right now, more than 40 seniors with varying medical needs are housed in a temporary large tent because the main senior building is overcrowded. Our immediate goal is to build housing that gives up to 50 seniors stable shelter and the dignity of proper beds and living conditions. Your support goes directly to this project.
